To put it simply, I work with words. Vocationally, I am a technical writer, but I am a freelance editor on the side. Additionally, I write creative fiction in my spare time.

Technical writers are professional communicators who need excellent writing skills. To write well means to know your audience. When communicating to your audience, you need to consider various factors such as the scope of information, word use, and design.

Technical writers not only contribute to the success of an organization but also contribute to product quality. If a product does not have excellent documentation, customers can find a product confusing and difficult to use.

Technical writers also improve communication among members of a product development team. A company's lack of documentation can cause confusion in the product development life cycle. Product developers need documentation to avoid confusion among members of differing teams.
